Football Party Snack BarYou’ve had your much-needed holiday party break. Now it’s time to gear up for the next special occasion: the big game! That one time a year when people who don’t know a touchdown from a field goal watch sports as if their life depended on it. And even if the game is not your thing, there are all of those million-dollar commercials to watch, amirite?

A Super Bowl party is the best kind of party: the entertainment is covered by turning on the television! No arguing over the music. No thinking up party games. Just set up your snack bar and get ready for some football!

Referee Candy BucketsSo, what exactly comprises the perfect football party snack bar?

MandMs

With commercials and a halftime show that are actually good, you don’t want to step away for more than a few seconds. I created grab and go snack options with that in mind. Peanut MMsSnickers, M&M’S and Skittles are Official Sponsors of Super Bowl 50, so I made sure they were available. Fun Sized packs mean you can pick up a treat and be back in your seat without missing any action. Football CupcakesI used Snickers to create easy and fun football-themed cupcakes. Adding chopped Snickers to your favorite cupcake batter makes them extra special.

Snickers Cupcakes
Ingredients
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped Snickers
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  3. Combine sugar and butter until light.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla and mix thoroughly.
  5. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk in small amounts, beating each time.
  6. Stir in chopped Snickers.
  7. Add batter to lined cupcake pan.
  8. Bake approximately 19 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in cupcake comes out clean.

Football CupcakesTo decorate, tint white frosting with green food coloring. Add the frosting to a piping bag with a grass tip. (Tip 233.) Using quick squeezes, make your grass on each cupcake. To create the football, add a few spoons of white frosting to a piping or sandwich bag and snip off the tip. Pipe football-style laces on Fun Size Snickers and place on top of the cupcakes.

Now would probably be a good time to remind you that I’m hopeless when it comes to cake decorating. Luckily, these cupcakes are pretty foolproof!

Pretzels

To keep with the theme of take and go snacks, I created individual portions of chips and pretzels in fun, football-themed cups.

Chips Dips

I even made individual dip cups. No double-dipping on my watch!

Popcorn

And no sporting event is complete-at least in my world-without some popcorn. Individual boxes of popcorn, of course.

Snack Bar BannerI made an easy “Snack Bar” banner for the party table with my Silhouette. If you’re ready to make your own, grab the cut file here.

I also used a football field tablecloth on the wall for a little color-because there’s absolutely no reason a tablecloth has to actually be used on a table.

Football Snack Bar

I picked up football-themed snack cups and napkins at the store and used inexpensive black and white striped wrapping paper to give “referee stripes” to the candy buckets.

Make an easy football piñata-perfect for the big game!I even made a fun football piñata, which is the perfect way to take out your aggression if your favorite team doesn’t win. Grab the full details on how to make one here.
