It’s fall! Yay! It’s National Coffee Day! Yay! Both events are equally worthy of celebration. There’s just one small catch. If you live in a place like me, fall can still mean it’s hot outside. You might be running the air conditioning as we speak. It’s possible that you don’t really want a steaming hot cup of coffee. That, my friends, is when you improvise. (You can grab that Pumpkin Pie syrup in stores like World Market.)
- 1 cup LACTAID® Milk
- 1 cup strong coffee
- 1 cup ice
- 3 tablespoons pumpkin pie syrup
- Blend all ingredients together.
- Pour into glass.
- Top with whipped cream, if desired.
Of course it’s not just the heat. The other problem? Coffee shop milk. Replacing the milk in your order with soy is just not the same if you’re lactose intolerant. Luckily you can make your own pumpkin spice lattes at home with LACTAID®! I know that when I’m out, asking for anything milk based that’s larger than a grande is just asking for trouble.
