Today is Summer‘s birthday. I’m lucky because while most of my blogging friends are scattered around the country, Summer is less than an hour away. That means we get to hang out from time to time and I get to enjoy saying inappropriate things in front of her kids. She’s an amazing writer and is crazy photogenic. I’m jealous of both things. (I tried to find a bad picture of her and it was impossible. Meanwhile bad pictures of me abound…)
Tomorrow I’ll be heading to Chicago for BlogHer and I’ll be hanging out with a bunch of really cool people. Summer is not going to BlogHer. (She gets to be jealous of me for a change!) I think she’s staying home because either:
- She can’t afford to go because she spent all of her money on organic coconut flour at Trader Joes. or
- She has 3.2 million children and can’t find a baby sitter. or
- She doesn’t like Chicago style pizza. or
- She didn’t know the amount of awesome that was going to Chicago until it was too late.
Because I‘m an amazing friend I decided the perfect birthday gift would be taking Summer with me to BlogHer. (Hello, I’m awesome.) There’s just a few problems with this plan. We don’t have a babysitter for her 3.2 million kids and I’m not made of money. (But really, it’s more about the babysitter.) That’s why we have a Summer fill in for this year’s event!
