Late last year I created the following 13 goals for the new year:
1. Learn to play the guitar.
2. Renew my passport.
3. Get more pedicures.
4. Learn to shoot in manual.
5. Bake a pie from scratch.
6. Finish my craft room.
7. Install new floors downstairs.
8. Plant something outside.
9. Read more books.
10. Publish more tutorials.
11. Master a new soup recipe.
12. Do my nails more often.
13. Paint the garage.
And let’s just said I was a massive failure. (At least that’s what I’m thinking since there are only five days left…)
My passport is still expired. I purchased online guitar lessons I never found the time to use. Although I do have a few new camera skills I’m far from shooting in manual. I only made a half-hearted effort at making a pie. Any bowl of soup I had this year was made at Panera. The craft room, garage and floors are the same as last year. I published a few more tutorials, but not sure I did enough to really count as “more”. Yeah. Not so good.
Where I was successful? Well, I did plant something. One thing. (And my sapling is doing quite well so it will get transplanted in the spring.) I read an insane amount of books. (Seriously, it’s probably the reason I haven’t accomplished more on my list.) I did my nails a lot and I got a ton of pedicures.
So although my list of goals was a bit of a fail, I’m not feeling like a complete failure. I mean, I did accomplish some things. Not to mentinon-I already have a great head start on my list of goals for 2014!
