No-Sew Pillowcase Cape

No-Sew Pillow Case CapeI’m not a sewer. I have a machine and in an emergency I can sew a straight line, but…if you need an outfit I’m not your girl. I have, however, mastered the art of fusible hem tape.

Cut Pillow CaseStart with a basic pillowcase. Whatever color you want to use is fine. Cut the pillowcase along the side and bottom seams, leaving the top pocket in tact.

Fusible TapeUse the fusible hem tape to create your finished edges. Just place the tape along the side, fold over the edge and seal with your iron.

Iron EdgesJust a few seconds with the iron on the wool setting is all it takes. Pillow Case Edges SealedOnce you’ve sealed the sides and bottom, it’s not time to finish off the top. This is the only part that is even a little bit fussy. You want to fuse the edges here, too, but you want to do it so that you still have an open pocket at the top.

Pull your ribbon through the pocket, making sure it’s long enough to comfortably tie around the neck of whoever will be wearing it. I did promise this was no sew, but a quick stitch or to on either side of the ribbon through the pocket it probably a good idea to keep things in place…Chuck E. Cheese's
