I’m heading to Disneyland next weekend to celebrate Cars 3 and the Summer of Heroes, and I want you to join me!
We’ll get a first look at the all-new Disney•Pixar Cars 3 on Friday night, bookended by time hanging out in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
We’ll also get a look at LOU, the new short debuting in from of Cars 3.
Saturday begins with an epic lineup of interviews. We’ll start with Director Brian Fee & Producer Kevin Reher, followed by a presentation about LOU with Director Dave Mullins & Producer Dana Murray.
After the presentation we’ll have two rounds of interviews with the voice cast, starting with Owen Wilson (voice of “Lightning McQueen”), Kerry Washington (voice of “Natalie Certain”), Cristela Alonzo (voice of “Cruz Ramirez”) & Armie Hammer (voice of “Jackson Storm”). They’ll be followed by Nathan Fillion (voice of “Sterling”), Larry the Cable Guy (voice of “Mater”), Lea DeLaria (voice of “Miss Fritter”) & Isiah Whitlock Jr. (voice of “River Scott”). After we finish up interviews, it’s time for everyone to get all dressed up for the red carpet premiere of Cars 3. Red carpet events are always fun, but this one includes a party in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure! And yes, once the party stops, I still plan to hang out in Disneyland until they kick me out of the park!

Sunday starts bright and early with a trip to Disney California Adventure to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! James Gunn talked a little about his involvement on the ride during our interview back in April. I’m a huge fan of Tower or Terror, although for full disclosure I’ve only ever ridden the Orlando version. Everything I’ve seen about Mission Breakout looks pretty amazing, so I can’t wait to give it a go.
There’s tons of fun food, character experiences and more that we’ll all be checking out, too, as part of Disney California Adventure’s Summer of Heroes. I’m such a huge Marvel fan that I’m going to overlook the fact that the Marvel characters seem to have bumped my beloved Oswald off of the character greetings roster.
