I loved making my mini book charms for The BFG event. I knew if I was lucky enough to get an invite to the A Wrinkle In Time Event I’d make A Wrinkle In Time Book Charms to give to my fellow bloggers. (There’s a longstanding tradition of me bringing DIY gifts to movie events. You can check out all of my other Disney event gifts here.)
How to make A Wrinkle In Time Book Charms
Book Charm Supplies
To make your own mini A Wrinkle In Time Book Charms, you’ll need:
Step One
Pint out book covers on smooth white cardstock. My printable features four different versions of the A Wrinkle In Time cover.
Step Two
Cut out covers and score them along the spines so they’re easy to fold. Make sure you cut out your covers on a safe cutting surface like a cutting mat. It’s also very helpful when making cuts with a craft knife if you use a metal ruler.
Step Three
Condition a small amount of white polymer clay by massaging it in your hands. Roll the clay flat (you can roll it with the back of a glass) and then cut it out in rectangles that are slightly smaller than the size of the book cover.
Step Four
Use your craft knife to score along the edges of your clay to create the appearance of pages. Insert an eye hook into the top of your clay pages, then bake according to the directions on the clay package.
Step Five
Once your “pages” have cooled, use decoupage medium to glue the pages to your book covers.
Step Six
Finish your mini book charms by coating the front and back covers and spine with a coat of satin decoupage medium. If you notice the ink on your covers is bleeding a little, seal them first with a little spray on sealer.
With the addition of a chain, your A Wrinkle In Time Book Charms are ready to wear!
I have tons to share about the event, so make sure you follow along with all of my A Wrinkle In Time coverage!
