Awards Night Wine Charms

Awards Night Wine Charms

My primary DIY for my Red Carpet Wine Night were these fun wine charms. Nothing is worse than losing your glass of wine at a party, amirite?

To make your own charms you’ll need:

Getting started with metal stamping can be a bit of an investment, but you can find most supplies at the craft store, use coupons and basically reuse everything except the blanks forever.

Metal Stamping Supplies

Write out the words you want to stamp before you get started. Trust me on this. After that it’s only a matter of hammering out the letters to make your words. There are all sorts of tricks to get things lined up properly and to figure out spacing, but for this project I’m just winging it.

To create your words, take the appropriate letter stamp, line it up on your blank and hammer firmly. The blanks are inexpensive, so don’t worry about needing a few practice rounds.

Color with Sharpie

After you’ve stamped out your words, color them in with a black permanent marker and wipe off with a magic eraser. Supplies

Next you’ll want to turn your stamped discs into charms.

Bead Charms

Add beads to a head pin and use a pair of needle nose pliers to create a loop at the end.

Adjusting Charm

Add the beads and stamped discs to the hoops. Use a pair of pliers to bend the end of the hoop to secure, if needed. And note why I previously mentioned writing out everything before you start to stamp? It’s surprisingly easy to miss a few letters if you don’t. Of course your friends are also likely to fight for the highly coveted “Best Dirtor” charm, so maybe it’s a happy accident?

Best Film Charm

After that, all that’s left to do is wait and see if your pick for “Best Dirtor” wins!
