So I graduated from college…well…let’s just say it was a while ago. I actually left school without a college email address…I’ll let you try to do the math on that one. (Al Gore was still working out the kinks in the internet when I was getting my degree. Just kidding…the internet did exist, it just wasn’t quite mandatory that we used it yet. And I also know that Tim Breners-Lee invented the web. Al Gore just invented global warming or something…)
Now I’m stuck in a little loophole at my job and need 9 more hours of college credit. (I’ve already knocked out the first four-yay me!) And because I’m crazy and have 29.8 jobs at any given time I didn’t have the time to take a face to face class. Enter the brave new world of online classes. So I know that online classes aren’t anything new…it’s just that they’re new to me. So now that I’m used to taking quizzes, completing forum discussions and submitting classes online it was time to learn about something new: renting my textbooks.
You see, back when I was in school the first time I had to walk into the student store and purchase my books off of the shelf. And then at the end of the semester I had to go back to that same store and sell them back if I didn’t want to keep them. (And honestly, most of them I had no desire to keep.) It wasn’t a huge deal when I was actually living fairly close to the student store…but now I’m taking a class from a school that’s hours away from me. And I can already tell you I don’t want to keep the books. So what’s the solution?
Renting books online! (Why was this not around the first time I was in school? Oh, wait…the whole “internet didn’t really exist yet…) Campus Book Rentals has tons of textbooks available at savings between 40 and 90% off. I can get the book I need for my next term for only $65. That’s for a book that costs over $120! And no, there’s no shipping to worry about. You get free shipping, both ways. Campus Book Rentals also donates to Operation Smile with each textbook rented. Operation Smile provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe.
Do you have textbooks that someone else might need to rent? Now you can also use RentBack to make extra money. Just visit the website to find out how much your old books are worth!
Campus Book Rentals is providing me with a gift code for this post. However, all opinions are my own.
