From my first glimpse of Emma Watson’s Belle in the Beauty and the Beast ballroom scene, I knew I wanted to make a DIY version of her rosetree necklace.
My friend Rachel over at Sprinkle Some Fun beat me to it by making her own version with hot glue. (Hop over to grab the printable you’ll need to make her version or mine.) Rachel also gets credit for suggesting I try polymer clay since it’s one of my favorite mediums.
In addition to the printable and clay you’ll need crystal rhinestones, jewelry glue, gold liquid leaf and gold cording. This is my favorite kind of project because I already had everything I needed in my craft stash!
Place a sheet of parchment paper over the printable and add thins rolls of clay. It won’t look like much to start with, but the magic happens when you add the gold. Bake your clay according to the package instructions.
Brush gold liquid leaf on both sides of your rosetree pendant after it’s had a chance to cool. I always use a cheap brush for liquid leaf so I don’t feel guilty about throwing it away when I’m done!
Use strong jewelry glue to attach your rhinestones. Loop on some gold cord and your rosetree necklace will be ready to wear.
This DIY rosetree necklace is perfect for dress up or cosplay. Of course if DIY isn’t your thing, there’s also a version available to purchase from the Disney Store!
