Whenever Disney invites me to LA, I always bring along gifts for the other bloggers. I started making cute little sugar skull charms for #PixarCocoEvent. They were a smaller version of a pendant I had already created. I then remembered that I had never posted about the Baymax earrings I made for the D23 Expo in 2015. Since we were going to screen Big Hero 6: The Series during the event, I thought they would be a fun and easy bonus gift. I’m so glad I did. It turns out that my epic idea for making tiny sugar skull pendants was a total fail and it was only my Baymax earrings that kept me from arriving empty-handed!
To make your own Baymax earrings, you’ll need:
Sort out your white Perler Beads and place them about an inch apart on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for about one hour.
Using your Silhouette, cut out the eyes from black vinyl using this cut file. If you don’t have your own Silhouette, ask around to see if a friend or a family member has one. This takes a small amount of vinyl and can be cut out of scraps. Carefully place the eyes on the front of the melted Perler Bead. I didn’t find it necessary to use transfer tape since the eyes are just one piece.
Use jewelry glue to attach the earring posts to the back of the Perler Beads.
Your earrings are now ready to wear!
