Thank you to Disney Studios for hosting me during the Moana Event.
Something very special happened on Monday night-the Moana World Premiere at the El Capitan Theater! Even though we had screened the film prior to our interviews on Sunday, I couldn’t wait to see it again! (It’s good enough that I’m planning to see it a third time at our local press screening!)
Every premiere is different, and the Moana blue carpet was unlike any other! Where else can you hear the Sexiest Man Alive and a Tony Award winner perform together?
But Auli’i Cravalho (voice of Moana) wasn’t going to let them have all of the fun.
Inside the party there was tony of Polynesian-inspired snacks and fun. Fresh flower leis and hair flowers…photo ops…a chance to receive a Moana-inspired airbrush tattoo… My personal favorite was the Havaiana bar because having a pair of flip flops to throw on after the premiere was a beautiful thing.
Inside the theater we were treated to a performance from Te Vaka, including dancers throughout the theater. I’m in the second row so you can just barely make me out in this picture!
Their performance was amazing, and the perfect way to introduce the movie!
It was a fabulous night at the Moana World Premiere-a chance to be goofy with friends, spot some celebrities, enjoy amazing performances and watch a fantastic movie!
And it’s not a Disney trip to the red blue carpet without a stop on the Oscar stairs!
From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Princess & the Frog) and produced by Osnat Shurer (Lifted, One Man Band), Moana sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
Stay tuned. There are tons of exclusive interviews and more coming soon! You can find all things Moana here, including full event coverage!
