Bottle Brush Tree Mason Jar OrnamentsI think it’s been pretty well-established that I’m completely and totally obsessed with all things Christmas. I love the sights, the sounds and the smells of my favorite holiday.
One of my favorite parts of Christmas? The tree. Not the getting it in the house/putting it up/decorating it/taking it down part. I just really love looking at it once it’s all done. I’ve had a fresh, real Christmas tree in my house every year since I’ve moved in. Nine beautiful and aromatic trees…dropping needles all over my living room and creating a gigantic mess. This year I decided to make the leap to an artificial tree. Yes, I’m dying a little inside. But it was one of those things I had to do-even though I’m not sure I really wanted to do it.
Snow Globe SuppliesSo in the spirit of going fake Christmas tree, I decided to create something that embraced my favorite type of fake tree-the bottle brush. On my near daily trips to the craft store, I’ve seen them everywhere. The bottle brush trees, the adorable little accessories…so much vintage awesomeness everywhere I look.

Mason Jar SpacingSo of course I picked up a few trees, a few accessories, a few fun mason jar style ornaments…

This is a totally kid-friendly project. Or adult-who’s-not-crafty-friendly project, for that matter. Start by getting a rough idea of how you want to place everything inside your jar.

Snowman In LidOnce you’ve figured out placement, use glue dots to hold everything on the lid of the ornament.

008If you decide to add a tiny bird-or any other accessories-to your bottle brush tree, just bend the bristles to make a spot, then use more glue dots to hold it in place. (You can fold the glue dot in half if you need to make it smaller.)

Glued in Lid

Once you’re happy with the placement of everything on your lid, just screw on the top of the ornament.
