OK, a confession: you could have seen these s’mores before. That’s because I made them to celebrate the 4th of July. But guess what? They’re also perfect for celebrating the star-spangled man with a plan, too. I present to you: Captain America S’mores.
Captain America S’mores
To make your own Captain America S’mores, you’ll need:
The first step is making a graham cracker and marshmallow sandwich. If you’re unable to find the square-shaped s’mores marshmallows, just cut and layer some jumbo marshmallows instead.
Melt your chocolate in a double boiler, or at half power in the microwave. Use a dab of melted chocolate on each cracker to hold everything together. Give them a few minutes to set, or pop them in the freezer for a few seconds.
Once the sandwiches are set, give them a generous bath in the melted chocolate. A spoon made for dipping chocolate is really helpful when working on a recipe like this.
Place your s’mores on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a baking mat. Quickly add your patriotic sprinkles to the top before the chocolate has a chance to harden.
You can allow the chocolate to set on its own or pop them in the freezer for about a minute to harden. If you opt for the freezer, don’t leave them inside for more than a couple of minutes, or the chocolate will start to sweat.
They make great snacks for when you’re on the go. Perhaps even a treat for the movie theater when you head out to see Avengers: Infinity War?
