Captain Marvel Pumpkin Supplies
What do you need to make your own Captain Marvel pumpkin?
- A Pumpkin (Real or Craft)
- Red & Blue Spray Paint
- Gold Craft Vinyl
- Craft Knife
- Masking Tape
Start by painting your pumpkin blue. Once the blue paint is dry, tape off a wide “V” shape on the front of the pumpkin, ending in a second, smaller “V” shape in the back. (Once you actually do this you’ll see what I mean-the tape will naturally come to a point in the back, too.) Protect the bottom of the pumpkin by taping on a plastic bag, then spray the top of the pumpkin with red paint.
Carefully peel off the masking tape to reveal the red and blue paint base for your pumpkin. Don’t worry if the edges are a little rough-they’ll be covered by the gold embellishments.
Find a picture of Captain Marvel’s star online and print it out in an appropriate size for your pumpkin. Use the printout as a template and cut out the star from gold vinyl using a craft knife. Carefully place the gold star in the center of the “V” on the front of the pumpkin. Use a ruler and your craft knife to cut out equal-sized strips of gold vinyl and carefully lay them on the pumpkin following the line created where the red and blue paint meet. The ridges of a pumpkin can make this part a little fidgety, so take your time and gently stretch the vinyl as you add it to the pumpkin. That’s all it takes-your Captain Marvel Pumpkin is ready to become a part of your Halloween decor!
