How To Make A Peppa Pig Piñata
Piñata Supplies
- Pink Crepe Paper
- Cardboard
- Paperboard (Empty Boxes)
- Peppa Pig Pattern
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pink, White, and Dark Pink or Red Cardstock
- Masking Tape
- String
- Black Marker
Step One
Use the pattern to cut out two Peppa Pig shapes from cardboard. If using cardboard that is printed on one side make sure you cut out mirror images of the pattern so that you end up with two unprinted sides for your piñata.
Step Two
Cut out strips of paperboard in the width you’d like your piñata to be. Use a generous amount of masking tape to secure the paperboard to the side of one Peppa Pig-shaped piece of cardboard.
Step Three
Poke a small hole between the ears of your piñata form and add a loop of string. Knot the string and secure on the inside with masking tape.
Step Four
Use more masking tape to secure the other Peppa Pig-shaped piece of cardboard to the back of the piñata form.
Step Five
Create folds of crepe paper that are slightly larger than the width of the piñata, creating multiple layers. Use scissors to create a fringed edge.
Step Six
Add a small line of glue across the piñata, then add a piece of the crepe paper fringe. Continue this in layers, slightly overlapping your previous fringe each time. When working around the sides of the piñata or in smaller areas like the ears, add an extra line of glue under the fringe to keep everything in place. If anything doesn’t look quite right, just cover it with an extra layer of crepe paper fringe. Trim off the excess crepe paper with your scissors.
Step Seven
Cut out the eyes, cheek, nose and mouth shapes from cardstock. Use glue to attach them to the piñata. Finish the eyes with a black marker.
