The Cast Of Disenchanted Share New Details About Their Upcoming Disney+ Film

A lot has happened in the 15 years since fairytales and real-life collided in Enchanted, and this November fans will finally have the chance to catch up with Giselle, Robert, and Morgan to see how their happily ever after turned out. The cast of the upcoming Disney+ film Enchanted took to the stage at D23 Expo to discuss their roles and reveal an all-new trailer for the film.

When it comes to Giselle, “[She] still has all of the love and joy that we know about Giselle, but she now finds herself in a slightly different position as a mother of an infant and a teenager, and the wife who’s looking to find her way in the world with these new roles,” according to Amy Adams. “With all of the love and the joy, she tries to move forward. Maybe not always in the best way, but always with the best intentions.”

The family’s move to the suburbs creates the biggest change for Robert. “The challenge is his commute,” says Patrick Dempsey. “He’s not quite used to that yet. He grew up in Manhattan, so now he’s got a little bit longer commute, and it’s a journey for him to get to the office every day.”

“As a huge fan of the original Enchanted, I can’t believe that I got to be a part of this,” Maya Rudolph gushed. “It’s not easy being mean to Amy Adams, not at all. But we had so much fun together and made this fun meal out of being as nasty to each other as they could be, and it was a dream.”

Disenchanted streams on Disney+ beginning November 24, 2022.

About Disenchanted

It has been 15 years since Giselle (Amy Adams) and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.
