I couldn’t let the movie princesses have all of the fun, so Sofia the First and Elena of Avalor had to have their own DIY Disney Channel Princess-Inspired Christmas ornaments, too!
To make a Sofia the First Christmas ornament, use silver beading cord, large purple rhinestones, pearl tape and crystal tape on a light purple glitter ornament. You can find all of the rhinestones, pearls and crystals in the scrapbooking department of your craft store. Use hot glue to add the cord and large purple stone for the Amulet of Avalor. The pearls and crystals can be added using the adhesive tape already on the back.
You can find full instructions on my favorite way to make DIY glitter ornaments here.
Elena of Avalor took a little creativity, but I think the ornament captures her spirt perfectly.
Use a red glitter ornament along with pink ruffle lace trim, gold sequin trim and gold braid trim. If you’re having any trouble finding the lace, try a craft store that has a fabric department.
Use hot glue to add the ruffles and trim to mimic the design of Elena’s dress. It’s easier to add the hot glue to the trim first before pressing it into the ornament. If things get out of place, just heat it slightly with a hair dryer on high heat and you should be able to reposition anything needing adjustment.
