I’m an empathetic crier. If I see someone crying, I’ll probably cry, too. When I saw Avengers: Endgame in the theater, I didn’t cry. It was close, though. The girl sitting beside me was in hysterics over a certain scene featuring Natasha Romanova. I didn’t look over, so I only heard her. If I had seen her, I’m sure I would have started sobbing. When I was invited to celebrate the home release of Avengers: Endgame with a craft inspired by one of the original Avengers, I knew I wanted to play tribute to Black Widow, and that little girl sobbing beside me in the theater. My DIY Black Widow belt, paired with an all black outfit, will have you ready for Halloween, your favorite Con, or even an in-home movie night if you’re feeling a little extra.

How To Make A DIY Black Widow Belt

To make your own Black Widow belt, you’ll need:

Start by trimming your elastic to the size of your waist. Use a lighter to carefully melt the edges of the elastic to keep it from fraying. Add hook and loop tape to each end of the elastic to create a belt. Add a few quick stitches with needle and thread to the hook and loop tape, if needed, for a secure fit.

Cut out the Black Widow shape from craft foam using the template. Mask off the edges of the foam and paint with silver paint. Once the paint is dry, trace the inner edge of the silver paint with a red paint pen.

Attach the foam Black Widow belt buckle to the elastic belt with hot glue. Your Black Widow belt is now ready to wear! Natasha Romanova would be proud.
