Thank you to Zak for providing me with the Peanuts dining set featured in this post as well as additional Halloween merchandise. Visit my master list of pumpkins for tons of no-carve Halloween inspiration.
I make a lot of pumpkins every Halloween. What can I say? I live for a good Halloween craft. Of course, it doesn’t have to be just pumpkins. When Zak sent me an adorable Peanuts Halloween dining set, I wanted to make a few Peanuts-inspired Halloween decorations to go along with it.
The only problem is pumpkins don’t usually come in the shape I wanted for my decorations. Gourds, however, were perfect! I opted for some mini gourds from the floral department at my craft store, but you can use real gourds and make much bigger versions of these peanuts characters if you want!
How To Make Peanuts Halloween Gourds
The first step is adding a few coats of yellow and white paint to the gourds.
Once the paint is dry, all you need is a black paint pen to add the details. Pro-tip for Snoopy: don’t color his ear in all the way. You’ll want to leave little bits of white throughout to get an authentic look.
The whole process couldn’t be easier. When you make a goof with paint, it’s easy to fix. Just paint over it! Best of all, it’s a totally kid-friendly craft as long as you use acrylic paints and paint pens.
The last step is working Snoopy, Woodstock, and anyone else you make into your Halloween decor!
These DIY Snoopy and Woodstock gourds would be a great Halloween party craft. They’re also the perfect activity to go along with a night of watching “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”.
