Encanto is one of those films that will always bring the memories flooding back for me. I’ve talked about this before, but I attended my screening the day after my grandmother’s funeral. I’m not sure that watching a film about a family led by a strong matriarch was the best thing for my emotions at that time, but I did have a nice long cry in the theater that night.
I had the chance to discuss Encanto with screenwriter and director Charise Castro Smith. I was hoping she’d tune us into some yet-to-be-discovered Easter Eggs in the film, but it turns out you guys have already found them all!
Encanto is now streaming on Disney+ and available for purchase on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
