So the conversation went something like this…
Friends: Make a Fortnite pumpkin this Halloween!
Me: I don’t play Fortnite.
Friends: Make one anyway!
Me: I don’t know…I usually make movie pumpkins.
Friends: But Drift is basically a bunny!
Me: I’m gonna make a Fortnite Pumpkin!
Fortnite Drift Pumpkin
To make a Drift Pumpkin you’ll need:
- Pumpkin (Real or Craft)
- White, Pink, Gold and Black Paint & Brushes
- White Craft Foam
- Hot Glue
- Pencil
Start by painting your pumpkin white. I selected a white craft pumpkin, but I still gave it a quick coat of vanilla white paint so that I could touch up any mistakes I made when I painted the face. Once the paint is dry, sketch on the Drift face with a pencil. Carefully paint in the face with your pink, black and gold paint. If you’re not confident with a paintbrush, paint pens can work, too!
Cut out the ears from white craft foam. GIve them a coat of the same white paint you used on your pumpkin, if needed, then paint the inside of the ears with your pink paint.
If you’re using acrylic craft paint for your pumpkin, don’t be surprised if it takes several coats to get good coverage. And don’t worry if you mess up. That’s what those tiny touch up brushes are for!
Use hot glue to attach the ears to your Drift Pumpkin. If you want to leave your pumpkin outside, spray it down with a coat of acrylic sealer.
