I made a cute little poison apple ornament last year. Just one problem: it didn’t sparkle. (And we all know sparkles make everything better!) This year I’m making a glittery poison apple Christmas ornament that’s perfect for any Disney fan who prefers that their DIYs have a bit of sparkle.
Snow White-Inspired Poison Apple Ornament
To make your own glittery poison apple, you’ll need:
- A Plastic Ornament
- Ultra Fine Red Glitter
- Polycrylic Finish
- 3D White Fabric Paint
- Crystal Glitter Paint
Start by making a red glitter ornament. You can find instructions in my “More Disney Princess-Inspired Christmas Ornaments” post. Once the red glitter ornament is ready, it’s just a matter of drawing on the face of the poison apple with the white 3D fabric paint. I tried a few other methods, including using glitter glue, but I found that only the 3D fabric paint didn’t drip and ruin the design. Don’t worry about getting the face perfectly symmetrical or getting the paint smooth. It should look a little drippy and rough around the edges!
Once the fabric paint has dried, brush a few coats of crystal glitter paint on top of the fabric paint for a sparking finishing touch. One that is dry, your Snow White-Inspired Glittery Poison Apple Ornament is ready to hang on your tree!
