Now is where I confess that summer and travel and all of the other things going on have kept me away from my love of crafting recently. That’s why today I made time to make something easy and fun. You know, just to get back in the swing of things. I also challenged myself to use supplies I already had on hand. The end result were some shockingly simple to make golden animal trinket jars.
I happened to have a glut of animals sitting around from my Jungle Book Soaps. (The non-jungle animals were especially plentiful.) I also have a drawer full of glue and a garage full of spray paint. The only other thing I needed were some small containers. I used tiny paint pots, but any small container would work. Baby food jars, if you have them, would be perfect!
E6000 if my go-to glue for any projects that need a secure hold. Just dab the animal feet into a little of the glue and attach it to the tops of whatever jars you’re using. It has a strong odor, so glue outside if at all possible. (Says the girl who has done multiple day glue projects in front of her television, breathing in the fumes. Do as I say, not as I do!)
And although I’ve been recently (as in today) called out for my abuse of gold spray paint, I stand by it making everything look better. Of course you can substitute in any spray paint at all. Perhaps even some glitter spray?
And that, my friends, is all it takes to make some adorable little golden animal trinket jars. Glue, spray, you’re done.
Even the most crafting-challenged among us can create these jars! (Not that I really believe that there’s such a thing as being crafting-challenged…but…that’s another story for another day…)
