This week that pretty new grill got it’s first workout. I confess to being pretty average when it comes to grilling. I possess no special skills or inclinations. That doesn’t mean I don’t love grilled food. That’s why I’m grateful for the inspiration provided by this week’s photography assignment.
After successfully testing everything out I was ready to make some of my first meals on the grill. It was also time to practice this week’s lesson: photographing food on the grill.
This week was a lot of fun-with a lot of great information, too. We discussed the many different angles you could use in photography. We also got a lot more technical, discussing manual photography modes. Leaving auto is scary for me, but I’m definitely enjoying the challenges.
Taking pictures of food actually on the grill is it’s own challenge. The rapid cooking, the heat – it all makes things a little tricky. Of course I’ll take a challenge this delicious anytime!
This was week four of our six week photography course sponsored by Sears Grilling. I can’t believe there are only two weeks left! I’m looking forward to next week-we’ll be photographing food on the plate! Let me know if you have any favorite grilling recipes. I could always use inspiration!
