I’m kind of obsessed with Hei Hei. Well, to be honest, I’m kind of obsessed with all things Moana. But Hei Hei specifically. Obviously I needed to make a Hei Hei Pumpkin this Halloween.
To make your own Hei Hei Pumpkin, you’ll need:
- A Pumpkin (Real or Craft)
- Red and Yellow Feathers
- White, Purple and Red Craft Foam
- Black Marker or Paint Pen
- Glue Gun and Glue
- Iron
Start by using hot glue to cover the bottom two-thirds of the pumpkin in yellow feathers. Repeat the process on the top third with red feathers.
Cut out four skinny triangles of the same size from yellow craft foam. One thing I like to do with craft foam projects is to iron the foam after it’s been cut. This shrinks it down a little bit and makes it look a little less foam-like. It also lets you form some great curved shapes in the foam if you need them. Use hot glue to glue the four triangles together to create a beak shape.
Glue the beak on your pumpkin and top with a red craft foam wattle.
Cut out two large white craft foam circles and two slightly larger purple circles. Glue the white circles onto the purple circles.
Draw pupils on the center of each eye, then glue the eyes to the sides of the pumpkin. Finish off your Hei Hei with a red craft foam comb.
Make sure you display your Hei Hei pumpkin away from any rocks. (He doesn’t know they’re not food.)
