Every year I hear it. Complaints about the rushing of the holidays. You can’t shop for Halloween without seeing Christmas creeping into the stores. And I LOVE IT!
Now I know it bugs some people. I’ve heard the arguments…other holidays, especially Thanksgiving, are getting short changed. I don’t think that has to be the case.
I try to live my life being thankful on a daily basis. (If you don’t, give it a try!) When you are constantly thankful, Thanksgiving is every day. It’s just that there’s one particular day a year when you get together with your family to celebrate that fact.
I love seeing Christmas decorations. I love it when the lights come out. If I could successfully start a campaign to get everyone to leave Christmas lights on year round I would consider it. Well…maybe not. If it was every day it wouldn’t bet that special, I guess.
Still, I love the holidays. They make me happy. So I’m going to have to ask you to forgive me when I get a little excited when I see Christmas working it’s way into the stores. And I’ll try to keep my radio down in the office when I’m playing Christmas music on November 1st. I’m just really excited for Christmas. But don’t worry…I’m still thankful, too!
