With Halloween just around the corner, there was time for one more pumpkin to rise from the sewer. This no-carve Pennywise pumpkin is easier to make than you might think!
How to make a Pennywise Pumpkin
To make your own It-inspired Pennywise pumpkin, you’ll need:
- A White Pumpkin
- Orange Tulle
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
- Pencil
- Black and Red Paint Pens
- Dark Yellow Paint and Brushes
I originally planned to make Pennywise’s hair from orange craft fur. When orange fur was nowhere to be found I had to get creative. Little pieces of orange tulle hot glued to the pumpkin worked to create the clown hair. This is an easy, but time-consuming, step. When you’re ready to start, just turn on a movie and get ready to cut and glue for a while. If you grab a glass of wine, I won’t judge. Just be careful with that glue gun!
Once the hair is in place, grab a pencil and sketch on the scary clown face. Things don’t have to be perfect at this point, but the pencil outlines will give you a rough idea of where to paint.
Next, grab your paint pens and start to color in the features on Pennywise’s face. Remember, if you mess up it’s easy to cover things up with a little more paint. Grab the yellow paint to color in the irises of the eyes. Outline everything in black paint pen.
That’s all it takes to create the cutest and creepiest pumpkin in the storm drain!
