At least two years ago I stopped using dryer sheets. Partially because I heard they could ruin your dryer and partially because I heard they were full of dangerous toxins. That left me with a box of dryer sheets going to waste.
I have very straight hair that I wash every day. (No lectures on how you shouldn’t wash your hair every day. No one wants to see me on a day I haven’t washed my hair…) When the weather gets cold and dry my hair goes crazy. We’re talking walking around looking like I just grabbed onto a Van De Gradff generator crazy. The world’s easiest fix? A light rub with a dryer sheet.
And yes, I appreciate the irony of not using dryer sheets on my clothes because they may have toxins but being totally fine rubbing them on my head to fight static. If you saw my hair in the winter you’d understand. Desperate times. Plus if I‘m washing my hair every day I’m washing away the toxins, right?
One dryer sheet will last an incredibly long time. Keep one in your purse, too. Especially if you’re going shopping and you might be trying on clothes. If you suffer from hair static you know why this is important…
