Want to make a cookie inspired by the famous Churros of Walt Disney World? Traditional churros are fried…and I have pretty hit or miss luck when it comes to frying things. These Mickey’s Churro Cookies are baked, so they’re ridiculously easy and unlikely to cause any kitchen disasters.
How To Make Churro Cookies
Start with refrigerated pie dough. You can always make your own dough, but I’m a big fan of shortcuts! Make sure your dough is room temperature before you unroll it to avoid cracking. You can use any cookie cutter you have on hand, but I thought a Disney inspired treat deserved a Disney cookie cutter, too! With strategic cutter placement you will have minimal waste. You can take the leftover dough and roll and cut again or you can make scrap cookies. Place your cookies on a baking mat or parchment paper. Brush on melted butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake according to the directions on your pie crust packaging. Total bake time will be shorter than a full crust, so watch closely. My cookies only took five minutes.
The cookies are best served warm, and with chocolate dipping sauce. Just melt a little of your favorite chocolate at half power in the microwave. Stir in a bit of cream. It’s as easy to make as the cookies, right? Make sure you check out all of the amazing Disney inspired recipes from my friends!
