You love Minions, right? They’re totally adorable…and we’re coming up on Minions Summer! They’re getting their own movie-you’ll be seeing them everywhere!

That includes Minions on your favorite Mott’s juices and applesauces! The packages will be available in all Food Lion stores through July 31st, 2015. Look for the special Minions inspired flavors-Strawberry BA-NA-NA applesauce and Tropical BA-NA-NA juice drink.
- 1 cup (2 single serving cups) Mott’s Apple Sauce
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tsp Mott’s Apple Juice
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Spoon into cupcake liners.
- Bake at 350 degrees until top of cupcakes is lightly browned.
I made some yummy apple cakes using Mott’s apple juice and applesauce. These cakes are super moist and have a great apple flavor. They’re not a traditional cake texture-they’re more like a fritter. I decorated my cakes like Minions, but these would also be totally delicious with a cinnamon flavored glaze!
I’ve complained about my subpar cake decorating skills before, but I really am getting better. I just have to attack it like a craft project instead of a cake.
Black decorating gel and candy eyes are all that you need for easy peasy minions.

To get a smooth frosting coat, just microwave your frosting for a few seconds-usually no more than 30. If you made a traditional cupcake you can just dip them in the frosting and you’ll get that smooth, fondant-like look. These cupcakes are dense and didn’t rise above the edge of the wrapper. I just spooned on the frosting and gave each cupcake a tap to smooth it out.

To create your Minion faces, just use candy eyes and a decorating gel. It’s super easy…promise. If you can draw a smiley face, you can make a Minion.
Speaking of easy, I made some really quick Minion applesauce packs with my leftover Mott’s packs. Just take a large googly eye. If you have a silver metalic pen you can draw around the edge. If not, just consider the silver edging optional.

Add a stripe of black electrical tape to the back of your Mott’s Applesauce container. Use a glue dot to attach the eye. Instant Minion!
