I have a tradition of bringing gifts to Disney events, and #MoanaEvent was no exception! I’m in love with the scene showing young Moana exploring the ocean for the first time. Inspired by the pink plumeria flower she wears, I made hair clips for all of the bloggers in attendance!
How To Make Plumeria Hair Flowers
You’ll need dark pink craft foam, scissors, a clothes iron, hot glue, felt and hair clips.
Create a paper petal template and trace out the shape of the petal five times for each flower on your craft foam. Using a bamboo skewer to trace the leaves helps you avoid having ink on the edges of your petals.
How To Make Flower Petals From Craft Foam
Each petal requires five steps to shape. Start by placing your petal against the clothes iron on high heat for five seconds to get the initial shape. Each additional step requires five seconds of heat. Pinch the corner, bend back the lower left side, bend up the lower right side, then curve down the tip.
Use hot glue to attach each petal at the lower edges. Create the final flower shape by attaching the first and fifth petals.
Use fishing line to stitch a small piece of felt to the back of the hair clip, then use hot glue to attach the felt to the flower.
