Mother’s Day, Chai Tea and Being Far From Home

Steep Your Soul - Oprah Chai Tea

MC DiscloseI celebrated Mother’s Day last weekend. That’s because I’m going to be spending Mother’s Day this year in an airport. It’s totally worth it, though. I’m at a blog conference and I’m spending a ton of time hanging out with some of my absolute favorite people in the world. It’s still difficult knowing I won’t be with my mom and extended family this Sunday.

Luckily I’ll be near multiple Starbucks stores as I rush from airport to airport on my way home. That means I can take advantage of the Buy One Get One Free Teavana Oprah Chai Tea beverage offer this Sunday. I can purchase a tea for myself and share one the second tea with my travel buddy SummerSummer at the AirportOK, so it’s totally possible that we already enjoyed a few Starbucks beverages on the first leg of our trip. Who doesn’t stop at Starbucks when they’re at the airport? But we’ll definitely be sharing a cup of tea on the way home to celebrate Mother’s Day. It’s the least I can do since Summer will be spending Mother’s Day separated from her three little ones, right? Starbucks will be making a donation for each Teavana Oprah Chai product sold that day to benefit educational opportunities for youth through the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation.
Chai Tea is one of my favorite things to drink. Seriously, ask anyone. Take me out for coffee and there’s a 98% chance I’m going to order tea instead. And I love that by drinking the Teavana Oprah Chai Tea at Starbucks I can help young women in South Africa attend colleges and universities. That’s the mission of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation. You can find out more on the Steep Your Soul website.

How are you celebrating Mother’s Day? Whatever you do, make sure you stop by your favorite Starbucks and pick up a chai tea for you and your mom. And if you see my mom can you tell her I said Happy Mother’s Day?
