A week ago I started my last full day at BlogHer. First on the agenda was the fabulous Disney Junior breakfast. I loved everything about this. (Well, except the blogger who took the plush Mickey from out of Jen’s bag and replaced it with a Minnie. Who does this sort of thing? There were still empty seats with Mickeys. You didn’t have to take one from a seat where someone was obviously already sitting!) Mickey snatching aside this was an amazing event. We were treated to a sneak peek of Disney Junior’s new series Sophia The First along with a new clip from the Halloween episode of Doc McStuffins.
I spent some time after breakfast back in the expo hall looking for things I might have missed on my first visit there. My friend Hali asked if I had visited Retail Me Not’s booth yet. She just gave their prize wheel a spin and won. I definitely wanted to check them out – I love Retail Me Not! I found their booth and talked to their reps. They said I could get a spin on the wheel if I downloaded the app or sent out a tweet. One tweet later and I won, too! (I guess Hali is my lucky charm.) Now here’s where things get extra awesome: while I was looking for Hali I get a text message from Samsung. (I had visited their booth yesterday.) Today I won their hourly drawing for a new phone! I love Samsung. Seriously, I have two Samsung televisions and a Samsung washer and dryer. I was in the market for a new phone and planned to get one after I returned from BlogHer. Guess I don’t need to make that trip to Verizon after all! (Well, actually, I did go to Verizon when I got home – to activate my new Samsung Galaxy S III!) The photos from my new phone are so much better than my old phone. Next year’s updates are gonna rock!
I finally did find Hali and we headed across the street to the Getting Gorgeous event. Getting Gorgeous with Hali was so much fun! We were there for the second session and it looked like many of the first session participants were still there. (And many of the third session participants started arriving before we left.) I had a blast in the Downy photo booth. We talked to lots of different brand reps throughout the event and stood in a fairly long line to try on a pair of Coldwater Creek jeans. (Totally worth it because they’re sending us all a pair!) There’s no better way to make new friends than standing in a line with a bunch of bloggers. Diet Pepsi was there, thankfully, since I spent my entire time at BlogHer feeling dehydrated. (I lost count of how many I had before we left. Thank you, Diet Pepsi!) I even had my makeup done using new products from Salma Hayek and CVS.
Back at the hotel it was time to get ready for the evening. First on the agenda? A Back To School Event with Lands’ End. This was just plain fun from start to finish. It was also hot. So, so hot. Everyone had a chance to style their own Back To Schol look for Lands’ End. (I wouldn’t get mad at you liking my picture on Facebook…) We also got our makeup and hair done then had new head shots taken. I just wish I hadn’t been melting the entire time. Even with the extreme heat I had a blast. (And I can’t wait to get the new Lands’ End dress that they’re sending to me!)
From Lands’ End we walked over to the BanShe party. We had a little to eat, hung out with some super crazy ladies and took a few very shiny pictures. (Seriously, why is everywhere in NYC so hot?)
Back at the hotel the girls and I met up with Dusty, Rebecca and Nicole. We also checked out CheesburgHer for a while. Not unlike Sparklecorn it was dark and loud. There was less cake, but more cheeseburgers. And despite the fact that I could barely keep my eyes open we danced until my legs threatened to give out.
After that it was back to the room to start packing. That was an adventure in and of itself. BlogHer 12 is over, but I still have lots of different thoughts running around in my head. That means at least one more post where I try to pull it all together.
