Happy Spring! While you might hear me complaining about pollen, this is still my favorite time of year. When Nickelodeon invited me to celebrate their spring DVDs, I knew it had to be with my favorite pup Marshall. These Paw Patrol Tin Can planters are so easy to make. They’re also a perfect way to upcycle your empty cans just in time for Earth Day.
How To Make Paw Patrol Tin Can Planters
Start with clean and empty cans. I recommend using a smooth edge can opener which will help you avoid sharp edges on the cans. Give your cans a good coating of white craft paint. If you have some spray-on primer, that will work, too.
Use the lines in the cans are your guide to paint on the colors. I decided to not only make Marshall, but to create two of the cute little bunnies from “Paw Patrol: Pups Save The Bunnies,” too.
Cut ears out of craft foam and use hot glue to attach them to your cans. Once they’re in place you can add another coat or two of paint, including painting the ears.
Pencil on the faces and use a black paint pen to outline the details. You can create Marshall’s badge by cutting it out of foam or you can paint it directly on the can. Use a dot of hot glue to hold his ears down on the side of the can.
Once the paint is dry, add a coat of clear sealer to protect your planters.
