A delicious winter treat-and it’s sugar free!
I’ve never made hot chocolate from scratch but I’ve always wanted to try it. I decided to give the Alton Brown Recipe a go, but in a sugar free version.
Instead of powdered sugar I used Splenda in my mix. I just combined the Splenda, cocoa, powdered milk, salt and cornstarch in a plastic bowl. I added the lid, gave it all a quick shake and my cocoa mix was ready.(This would make a pretty awesome mason jar gift!)
Just fill your mug halfway with the mix and top with hot water. Add one tablespoon of Torani Sugar Free Salted Caramel syrup (or the flavor of your choice) and your drink is ready. Powdered milk does contain some sugar, but otherwise this drink is sugar free! (OK, fine, if you want to split hairs there is just a tiny bit of sugar in the whipped cream and caramel drizzle I added, but that’s really not enough to count…)
What flavors of Torani Syrup would you try in your hot chocolate?
