Some odd twist of fate started out my journey to SoFabCon with an extended layover in DFW with four of my besties. When I found out this was going down I contacted the folks at XpresSpa. They hooked everyone up with some amazing manicures. And those chairs? I seriously want to marry one of those chairs. They’re amazing.
We hopped on a shuttle and told the driver to take us to “the world’s best Walmart”. I mean, what else should you do on your first night in Arkansas? #YOLO
We managed to sneak in a surprise baby shower for Jillian on Wednesday. Yep, that’s a paper uterus on the wall. It. Was. Awesome.
The official kick off was a cocktail party. It was super sophisticated. So the obvious photo to represent the event is this one I took with Mel…
But it’s not all about the cocktail party selfies. It’s also about learning. Like how I learned to pay attention to Google +.
After the first day of sessions we enjoyed a few #MealsTogether at local restaurants. And this is basically what happens whenever you put a bunch of bloggers in the same room at the same time. I promise we did actually talk and put down our phones at some point.
After dinner we dressed up like our favorite animals and attended the #NickMomPJParty. I’ve been told my pink bunny costume will be haunting the nightmares of children who walked by for years to come.
I had the chance to spend time with my #PersonalOprah. I’m still waiting for the moment she walks in the room and gives a car to everyone. We all know this day is coming…
Two of the coolest chicks I know have promised to harass me repeatedly if I continue to shoot in auto.
I also managed to avoid my crushing fear of video cameras the entire time I was there.
We learned that any flight delay sucks, but it sucks a little less when you’re surrounded by cool people, massive brownies and delirious snap chats. #XNA4LYFE
If you’re going to spend the night in DFW, the best way to spend your $7 meal voucher is on donuts.
And when it’s time to go home, even when you’ve spent the night in the airport, it’s kind of sad.
