Three weeks ago I got my annual flu shot. I get a flu shot every year. I’m lucky enough to have a flu shot clinic held in my office, but even if I didn’t have that luxury I’d still make the effort to get my shot.
Last year I told you all about my love of flu shots. And I still love them. Hey…if you’re not a fan of them so be it. I respect your choice. I just know that I’ve stayed healthier since I’ve started getting the shot every year. It’s made a huge difference in my overall health and it’s helped me avoid chronic bronchitis. MinuteClinic was kind enough to give me a voucher for a flu shot this year. Since I already received my shot I shared it with my best friend. Last week we visited our closest MinuteClinic. He signed in using their automated system and just a few minutes later he had his shot-and a coupon good for 20% off our full CVS purchase! Don’t forget MinuteClinic accepts most insurance plans.
Are you planning to get a flu shot this year? If you haven’t already gotten one you’ll want to go soon. It takes about two weeks for the antibodies from the vaccine to develop. That means the longer you wait to get the shot the higher your risk of catching the flu! The flu shot is recommended for everyone over the age of 6 months. Exceptions are people with an allergy to eggs, who have a fever (you should wait until you recover), or who have had a previous severe reaction to a flu shot or have a history of Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
You can find the clinic nearest you on the MinuteClinic website.
