If you’re anything like me, you think ribs are intimidating as heck. I love them, I just get scared to grill my own. I worry about how long they’ll take. I worry about getting the flavors just right. Basically, I have ribs anxiety. I do believe in facing my fears, though, so I dug out the BBQ sauce recipe my mom used to make and hit the grill.
Smithfield is helping me get started with their Smithfield Extra Tender Pork St Louis Style Ribs. They’re hand-trimmed, extra-tender and juicy. They also have no added hormones or steroids.
Smithfield Fresh Pork is what championship pitmasters use in competition and in their backyard. They know that quality meat matters. That’s what makes Smithfield Fresh Pork perfect for your grill, too, no matter the occasion.
Pressure Cooker BBQ Ribs
One of the things that scared me about grilling my own ribs was the amount of time. I’m far from a grillmaster, and I have a tendency to be impatient. I solved both of these problems with a quick trip to the pressure cooker. And by quick trip I mean 30 minutes of pressure cooking. You can add water to your cooker, but I choose to add a cup of my BBQ sauce for a little extra flavor. I also used the little metal trivet inside of my pressure cooker, and cut the ribs into three sections so they all would fit.
Easy BBQ Sauce Recipe
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Add all ingredients in a saucepan and heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for 30 minutes.
This is a super easy BBQ sauce base that is fine on it’s own. Add extras to taste for the perfect accompaniment to your ribs. I like a little apple cider vinegar, crushed red pepper flakes and Tabasco in mine, but you do you!
The final step in these super easy ribs is placing them on the grill for about five minutes on each side. That caramelizes the sauce and gives you the char that you love.
As if these BBQ Ribs couldn’t be any easier, you can pick them up using Walmart’s Online Grocery Pickup Service. That’s right. You can buy your grociers in your pajamas. Heck, you can pick your groceries up in your pajamas.
