If I’ve learned anything from blogging it’s that change is inevitable. I’m constantly changing and reinventing myself and my blog to meet personal goals and to respond to the changing world of social media.
A peek in the WayBack Machine will show you some of the more obvious changes. Things like changing my margins and my icons. Moving my posts to the left side, which I hear is good for SEO. (I still confess to being a bit clueless when it comes to things like that but I always follow the advice I’m given!)
Outside of the obvious cosmetic changes there are things that you might not notice. Changes in what and how I write. This comes from a desire to increase the quality and relevance of my blog. I try to write what I’d like to read. I’ve turned down things that weren’t a good fit for me. (Learning to say no is hard in blogging, at least for me.) I’ve also worked on letting go of my fear of asking. The worst that can happen when you make a request is being told no. And the nos are OK…because sometimes there are yeses, too!
Most of all, I learned that what goes on behind the scenes is just as exciting and important as what is going on in front! Opportunities abound for those who are willing to put in the time and effort. Staying true to yourself and embracing a willingness to adapt…those are the keys. So stay tuned. Change is (always) coming!
The new MSN is 4x faster than other top sites at delivering the stories everyone will be talking about.
