This post is brought to you by Silhouette.I’ve been playing around with my new Silhouette Cameo for a few days. I see a lot of fun Silhouette projects in my future!
The cute gift box patterns available were one of the reasons I wanted a Silhouette. I’ve cut gift boxes by hand and this is so much easier. Not to mention the results are so much cuter. This box is available at the moment for only $.50! Just search for “box with round handle” in the Silhouette Store.
After you cut and then fold your box on the perforated edges it’s ready to fill. The finishing touch is a dragonfly sticker using Silhouette’s Print & Cut technology.
I selected a cute dragonfly from the stickers available on PicMonkey. I added the dragonfly image in the Silhouette Studio by draging it onto the screen. In the trace menu I selected the trace area, clicked off of the high pass filter, moved the threshold up and selected trace outer edge. I promise this is easier than it sounds. There are tons of on screen tutorials for how to do this available on YouTube.
In the registration marks menu make sure “show reg marks” is selected. Now your image is ready to print.
Click on the printer icon to send your image to your printer. Once your media (I used printable adhesive foil) is finished priting, attach it to the Silhouette cutting mat and load it into your Silhouette. Select the proper settings for the blade and you’re ready to cut. Apply your newly created dragonfly sticker to your gift box and you’re done!
Don’t forget the great deals available on Silhouette Bundles and specialty media through the end of the month! Use code BUNNYHOPS at checkout.
