Half of the fun of Christmas is wrapping gifts, right? Right? Wait…it’s just me who really enjoys wrapping presents for the holidays?
Last week I picked up some pretty awesome Disney Princess gifts
. Obviously a gift fit for a princess needs wrapping that’s extra special. (Not to mention the boxes were large and awkward…)
When I’m wrapping something that’s not in a perfect box shape I try to find the corners and wrap around those. The Power Quad was easy to wrap just by creasing around the front of the open box.
What’s going to make these gifts extra special, though, are the bows! I used wired ribbon for this. All you’ll need is craft wire and any accessories you’d like to add. (Like this butterfly I picked up in the Christmas ornament aisle.)
Find something about the size in width you’d like for your bow to be. Here I’m using my iPad. (Inside it’s case-otherwise glitter everywhere!)
Wrap around whatever you’ve using one full time for each loop you’d like for you bow to have. Then pull the ribbon off.
Find the center and gather it with a piece of craft wire. (If you don’t have wire you can use a twist tie-just strip off the plastic coating.)
Fluff out the loops and add your decoration…easy and adorable bow!
You can make fuller bows by making more loops. (Here I wanted a smaller bow so I used an XBox game.)
Just fluff out and attach to your gift! (A bonus of wire ribbon? If it gets crushed in transport it can be easily refluffed!)
For a different look you can even combine ribbon!
Add longer pieces of ribbon to serve as streaming tails to your bow. These same bows can be used as a part of your holiday decor, too! OK, so tell me…what will you make a bow for first?
