My craft room has long been a work in progress. It’s currently in a state of chaos, but I’m making progress. One step in the right direction was my purchase of several storage shelves with bins to hold all of my supplies. There was just one problem…when the bins were on the shelf I had no idea what was in each one. Labels were the answer…but what kind of labels?
I thought photo labels would be perfect. When I found out the Walgreens App would let me print photos directly from Instagram I knew that was exactly what I needed to make the labels for my storage bins. I started out by taking photos of some of the supplies in each of the bins. I used the A Beautiful Mess app to add text to the photos. Then I spammed all of my Instragram followers by sharing the photos. (Hopefully no one was too annoyed!)
Then it was just a quick visit to the Walgreens App to create my prints. Linking up my Instagram only took a few seconds. Then I was able to select which photos I wanted to print and select 4X4 or 8X8.
My six 4X4 prints came out to only $2.34. Great news since I have 12 more labels to make! I received an email to let me know the photo order was received and less than an hour later I had an email telling me my prints were ready. It was so easy and very quick!
The photos were just what I wanted…but photos don’t stand a chance in my craft room without a little protection.
I have a laminator so laminating the photo prints was the perfect solution. I just placed the photos in the lamination sleeve and ran them through the laminator once it was warmed up.
If you don’t have a laminator you can take the photos to any office supply store or copy center. There are also no-heat lamination sleeves available. Clear contact paper is another option, although be aware if you use contact paper the photos will be a bit frosty in appearance.
Once the photos are laminated just trim off the excess.
I used glue dots to attach the photos to my storage bins, although velcro or duct tape would work as well.
Just press the labels onto the bins and you’ll never have to wonder what’s inside again!
The Walgreens Mobile App makes it easy to print photos from your phone. In addition to Instagram you can print photos from Facebook, too!
