It’s always a great day to do something. It’s a great day to make something. It’s a great day to bake something. It’s a great day to take a nap. It’s just a matter of figuring out what it’s a great day to do. Once you figure that out, let everyone know with your super cute new chalkboard.
Start with any chalkboard. I bought this one, but you can make your own with chalkboard paint on pretty much any surface. This one came with a rope for hanging, but I swapped that out for some ribbon. I’m just not a rustic, rope sort of girl.
Now that you have a chalkboard, it’s time to break out the Silhouette. Create your cut file in Silhouette Studio. You can use any of the fonts on your computer, but I used Janda Quirkygirl. I’m a girl and I’m quirky. It fits.
Send the cut to your Silhouette machine and let it do its magic. Once you’re finished cutting, use the hook tool to weed the excess vinyl from your design. Use Silhouette transfer paper to apply your design to the chalkboard. The great part of using a wonky font is that you don’t have to be totally perfect when you line everything up. See? I’m always thinking ahead…Hand your chalkboard and decide just what today is a great day to do. I recommend naps. It’s always a great day to take a nap.
