I’m totally aware that Vanellope von Schweetz would hate this glittery tribute, but since she’s officially part of the princess canon after Ralph Breaks the Internet, I had to add her to my collection of glittery Disney Princess ornaments. Sorry, Vanellope.
Vanellope von Schweetz Christmas Ornament
To make your own Vanellope ornament, you’ll need:
- A Plastic Ornament
- Ultra Fine Mint Glitter
- Brown Wired Ribbon
- Miniature Decorative Candies
- Hot Glue
Start by making a glittery mint ornament. You can find instructions in my “More Disney Princess-Inspired Christmas Ornaments” post.
Once your glittery ornament is ready it’s simply a matter of gluing on the embellishments. Look for tiny candies in the miniature Christmas ornament section of your favorite craft store. Glue those to the top of your ornament.
To make the skirt, gather the brown ribbon by bunching it together on one side of the wire. This will create a ruffle. Carefully attach the gathered ribbon to the middle of the ornament with hot glue. Be mindful that your glue gun can melt a plastic ornament, so it’s better to add the glue to the ribbon instead of the ornament when you’re applying it. If you used a wide ribbon like I did, you can fold the ribbon underneath itself and attach with more hot glue to create a bubble skirt effect.
Once you’ve finished gluing on your candies and ribbon skirt, your Vanellope ornament is ready to hang on your Christmas tree!
